Assessment of School Readiness among Children of Anganwadi Centres

Conducted for Save the Children India, the objectives of the study are to identify current status of children’s school readiness with focus on early learning and development outcomes and the nature of caregiving practices among targeted communities. Findings of the study will contribute to Bachpan programme which aims to achieve transformational changes in the lives of underprivileged children that make them capable of reaching their full age-specific potential. The study geography covers Shravasti district of Uttar Pradesh.

Identification of Barriers and Enablers for Children aged 3-14 years for continued Learning at Institutional Level

Conducted for Save the Children India, the objectives of the study are to identify reasons for children remaining out of school, their non-transition from lower to higher grade, and enablers for regular school attendance and for bringing out of school children back to AWCs and schools. Findings of the study will contribute to Bachpan programme which focuses on bringing about transformational changes in the lives of underprivileged children that help them reach their age-specific potential. The study is being conducted in Shravasti district of Uttar Pradesh.

Summative Evaluation of Programmes for Combating Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children in Mumbai Metropolitan Region

The principal objective of summative evaluation is to understand the extent of effectiveness of programmes for combating commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC) in Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The scope of evaluation covers 21-years of work of International Justice Mission (IJM) in the targeted geography covering multiple stakeholders namely the Anti-Human Trafficking Units, District Legal Services Authority, the Courts, Child Welfare Committees, survivors of CSEC, Shelter homes and others associated with child rights and administration of criminal justice system (CJS). The evaluation would help IJM capture contribution of its anti-trafficking approach to improving performance of CJS, effectiveness of changes in CJS in reducing prevalence of CSEC, and the potential for replication of approach and programmes in other States. The evaluation is being conducted on the basis of OECD-DAC criteria and in conformity with the American Evaluation Association Guiding Principles for Evaluators, and utilisation-focused and trauma informed evaluation.
