Anil Kumar Das
Director
A development practitioner and consultant with hands-on experience in strategic planning, research, monitoring, evaluation, documentation, project management, advocacy and partnership building, Dr. Das has been working in the above domains since 1999. Some of his key accomplishments include qualitative and quantitative research, evaluation of CSR and donor-funded multi-year projects, design of theoretical frameworks, preparation of manuals, management of action projects, documentation of processes and results of development interventions, and organizational development. He has authored over 60 research, monitoring and evaluation reports, academic articles and other publications till date on child rights, women’s empowerment, health, sustainable livelihood, social inclusion, governance and other issues of contemporary social relevance. Besides heading Human Development Society (HDS), some of his past and present key engagements as an individual consultant include Senior Policy Consultant, UNICEF India (2018-2021); Inclusive Social Policy Consultant (on roster), UNICEF India (2018-2022); Senior Research Fellow, Policy Perspectives Foundation (2016 onwards); International Consultant, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Vienna (2015); and National Consultant (India), UNODC, New Delhi (2014). Dr. Das holds a Post Graduate Degree in Political Science from University of Delhi and M. Phil. & Ph. D. Degrees in African Studies from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi.
Shalini Chaudhary
Senior Manager- Operations
Shalini is a double Post-Graduate in Social Work and Biotechnology. With over 13 years of experience in the development sector, her core competencies include project management, monitoring, research, community outreach, and budget management. She joined HDS in 2010, and is responsible for overseeing projects and ensuring their conformity with timeline and deliverables. She plays a lead role in planning and coordinating field operations of research and action projects. She supervises data collection for research projects, conducts focus group discussions and key informant interviews, liases with funding agencies, and ensures quality of data and other deliverables. Shalini is known for her dedication to work and able management of projects of diverse nature.
Mansi B. Bhatia
Senior Consultant
A Master of Community Resource Management & Extension from Lady Irwin College, University of Delhi, Mansi has over 11 years of experience in development sector. In her earlier roles, she worked as Regional Manager- Programmes in Concern India Foundation for close to three years and occupied various other positions in the same organization. She was also with the United Nations Global Compact Network, India as Programme Manager responsible for research, content development, coordination with UN bodies, and publications. In HDS, she is responsible for providing operational guidance to research, evaluation, documentation and action projects, organizational development and partnership building.
Nachiket Udupa
Consultant
Nachiket holds a B. Tech. degree in Civil Engineering from IIT, Guwahati and an M.A. in Educational Leadership Studies (1 year) from Columbia University, USA. He is helping farmers’ groups with organic certification and setting up systems for product aggregation by facilitating the creation of farmers’ collectives to market their produce. He also contributes to quality of actions and deliverables.
Sanjeev Kumar
Project Manager
Sanjeev is a double Post Graduate in Sociology and Social Work. He joined HDS in 2012 and is currently responsible for managing the targeted intervention project for injecting drug users, which is funded by Delhi State AIDS Control Society. With over eight years of experience in the development sector, Sanjeev is known for his cool handling of critical situations.
Amandeep Singh
Accountant
Amandeep is a Commerce Graduate with over 6 years of experience in the private and development sectors. His core competencies are accounting and budget management. He is helping HDS in keeping accounts, monitoring budgets and other related tasks. He is known for keeping an eye for details and dedication to work.
Sarita
Counsellor
Sarita is Social Science Graduate from University of Delhi and is a trained Computer Operator and Programming Assistant. She is responsible for counseling of LGBTI people that results in building confidence, self-respect and resilience among them. With HDS since September 2017, she also puts her experience in home tuition and computer teaching to good use by teaching children of injecting drug users under our Project ANAND.
Vicky
Counsellor
Vicky has been with HDS since July 2017. As a Counsellor, he is known for skillful interaction with injecting drug users. He helps the beneficiaries build positive changes in their injecting behaviour that contributes to their good health, safety and mental wellbeing. He also manages of challenging community-level activities. His never-say-no attitude is a strength to the organization.
Vidhya Devi
Outreach Coordinator
Vidhya works as an Outreach Coordinator of our health project for injecting drug users and has over six years of experience in the domain. With HDS since July 2016, she coordinates community-level activities and is known for her troubleshooting skill.
Mithai Lal
Outreach Coordinator
Mithai Lal is a soft spoken and dedicated Outreach Coordinator attached to health project for injecting drug users. He has been working with HDS since August 2017. Due to his many years of experience in non-formal education, he uses his teaching skills for children of injecting drug users who are covered under Project ANAND.
